Activities

The Virginia Tech Alpha Pi Mu Chapter has been among the most active in the nation, winning national awards on several occasions including the Outstanding Chapter Award for the 2007-2008 academic year. The chapter carries on numerous activities designed to support the ISE Department, the College of Engineering, and the University.

Activities include the following:
  • Volunteering at premier events such as the Committee of 100 Casino Night
  • Coordinating and helping out with Casino Night with IIE
  • Volunteering at the local animal shelter and for the YMCA
  • Helping out at the ISE annual Town Hall Meetings
  • Helping out at the ISE Spring Fling
  • Hosting various social events for faculty and students including the French Design Team social
  • Sponsoring various companies with information sessions and other various events such as the Deloitte Donut Day
  • Hosting various information sessions and panels about career and internship opportunities
  • Inviting various speakers including alumni to speak about their work-related experience
  • Taking part of Virginia Tech's annual Big Event
  • Presenting at various engineering showcases such as the Freshmen Engineering Major Mixer
